Precision is key in metalworking – but flexibility is just as important. As a craftsman, you know how crucial it is to have the right tool at hand at the right time. This is exactly where VARIO accessories for FEIN cordless impact wrenches set new standards.
What are VARIO accessories?
The VARIO system from FEIN offers a selection of interchangeable attachments that can be fitted in seconds without the need for tools. Whether you need a tap, twist drill or 90° countersink, your FEIN cordless impact wrench becomes a multi-talented tool for drilling, countersinking and tapping. All you need is the VARIO insert tool (adapter).
Typical applications in metalworking
- Tapping, recutting or cleaning an M30 thread with an impact wrench/driver is around 3 times faster than manual recutting or cleaning with a tap wrench (25 to 80 seconds).
- Recut and clean threads of up to M30 with the ASCD 18-1000 W34 AS
- Twist drill, countersink and tap up to M18 with the ASCD 18-300 W2 AS
Advantages for professionals
- Maximum flexibility thanks to modular attachments
- Ergonomic working even during long periods of use
- Robust construction for daily use
- Time savings thanks to quick accessory changes
USER TIP FOR THE FEIN VARIO SYSTEM
Using the FEIN VARIO system, you can safely and efficiently undertake drilling, countersinking and tapping tasks with an impact wrench/driver. The system comes into its own for larger threads of up to M30 because standard drill/drivers reach their performance limit at tap hole sizes of M12.
WORK AT THE MAXIMUM TORQUE LEVEL AT ALL TIMES
Level 6 on the impact wrench/driver is recommended for the fastest results. Cutting forces are achieved promptly.
CLEANLINESS TRANSLATES INTO EFFICIENCY
- Cleanliness is key: Be sure to cleanly countersink the core hole and always offer up the tapper at right angles to the hole. Regularly deploy suitable cutting oil to preserve the drill bit and avoid chip jams, thereby preventing the tapper from breaking prematurely.
- Ensure the right depth: Stop forward running when you get to the last two thread turns at the end of the thread. This will ensure that the cylindrical part of the thread has been cut fully for the screw and at the same time that the tapper doesn’t exit the thread, making it easy for you to withdraw the drill bit in reverse running.
